Delivery of the 1st Titan 300 to Sodwana KZN

We were very proud to have delivered our first Titan 300 EC to KwaZulu-Natal waters – specially built to target big Marlin off Sodwana in comfort and style, while still being able to launch off the beach.

The Titan, a 9m cat hulled boat designed in New Zealand and manufactured in Cape Town, is specifically built for rough waters and calms even the roughest of seas.

The trip started in Cape Town on Monday, 25 April and after a bit of pushing and shoving we managed to get her onto the low-bed truck and she was on her way! Three days later she was in Richards Bay and the off-loading started.

As with all big boat deliveries things don't always go to plan and our first problem was we couldn't get the truck through the gate into Richards Bay yacht club, but a few minutes later – with the help of a leatherman – we had the boom off and we could load her onto the travel lift. Another two hours later and she was ready to hit the water.

The customers were very anxious to get going as you are not allowed to beach boats after sunset at Sodwana bay, and being 2'o clock in the afternoon already, they booked out with port control and sped off north at a fast pace.

3½ hours later and they were on the beach in Sodwana, having covered 105nm's at an average speed of 30 knots.

After a day of kitting the boat out they left on their maiden voyage and – being a lucky boat – they got a Marlin!

Mission accomplished.
