OVERVIEW

WHO NEEDS THIS COURSE?

The VHF/DSC radio course (SRC) is essential for anyone using a marine radio on their boat. If you have a marine radio, you’ll need an operator’s license – it’s also a key requirement for your boat’s annual safety inspection. (This certificate is required for all commercial endorsement applications.)

This course is primarily aimed at pleasure and commercial ski-boats, as well as yacht skippers up to coastal skipper level. The aim of this course is to become a competent operator of VHF radio equipment, including SRC and DSC, with particular emphasis on radio communications during emergency situations.

We believe in safety at sea. We’re proud to offer an excellent course with plenty of individual attention for each candidate. If you’d like to become a safe and confident skipper, able to handle your VHF DSC radio with ease, then we encourage you to enrol on this course. We offer small group tuition to ensure everyone receives personal attention. Our course is very practical – once the theory is explained, you’ll know how to apply it.
